Named for the roughly 250 lakes and bodies of water within its borders, Lake County is one of the most exciting places to live in Central Florida. Here, residents never have a shortage of things to do or sights to see, as the region has an abundance of both natural splendor and local charm. Below are just a few ways to get out and enjoy the Florida sunshine in Lake County.
Aquatic Fun
Whether you’re more into the thrill of jet skis and speed boats or the tranquility of a relaxing fishing trip, the many lakes and waterways of Lake County provide countless ways to enjoy a day out on the water.
Boat ramps can be found along almost all of the lakes, while opportunities for rentals or guided boat tours are abundant throughout the county. Want more? Seaplane tours are available at Lake Dora and Lake Eustis.
More of an angler? Try your luck on any of the nine lakes in the Harris chain and you might come home with a sizable bass, blue gill or catfish.
And don’t forget, beaches on both the Atlantic and Gulf coasts are only an hour and half drive away, giving you easy access to ocean fun!
